About Chunqiu Risk
ABOUT CHUNQIU RISK
Chunqiu Risk is a China-focused risk intelligence platform built to help organisations understand a complex and fast-moving operating environment.
Our approach is built around a simple idea: important developments should not disappear with the news cycle.
We continuously monitor developments across politics, security, geopolitics, business, regulation and strategic technology, turning fragmented open-source information into structured intelligence that can be followed over time.
Signals are identified, assessed, analysed and retained as part of a cumulative intelligence record. This allows users to move beyond isolated events and build a clearer view of changing risks, recurring issues and emerging patterns.
春秋
Nomenclature
WHY “CHUNQIU”?
Chunqiu (春秋) means “Spring and Autumn”. The name comes from the Spring and Autumn Annals, the ancient chronicle of the state of Lu, traditionally associated with Confucius and covering 722–481 BCE.
Its logic is still powerful: individual events matter more when recorded in sequence and understood in context. Chunqiu Risk applies that principle to modern China-related risk intelligence.
Our mission is to make China-related risk easier to monitor, understand and follow over time.
MISSION
We aim to provide organisations with continuous access to structured, source-backed intelligence that reduces information overload, preserves context and makes changes in the risk environment easier to identify. By combining technology, disciplined intelligence methodology and cumulative analysis, Chunqiu Risk is building a scalable alternative to fragmented monitoring and ad hoc research.
Subscription Product
Chunqiu Risk is designed as a subscription intelligence product rather than a traditional consultancy. The focus is on continuous coverage, consistent analysis and practical access to an evolving body of intelligence.
The result is an intelligence product designed to be used continuously: to monitor change, retain context and support better-informed risk decisions.
Human-Centric AI
AI enables the scale required to monitor a broad and fragmented source environment. The intelligence framework, analytical priorities and publication standards remain human-defined, with human review and oversight increasing as the platform develops.
Philosophy
WHAT GUIDES US
01 Coverage before noise
We prioritise developments that contribute meaningfully to the risk picture rather than reproducing the news cycle.
02 Analysis with discipline
Intelligence should explain significance and context without overstating certainty or pretending to provide bespoke answers where the evidence does not support them.
03 Cumulative by design
Each relevant development becomes part of a growing record that can be revisited, compared and connected over time.
04 Technology with purpose
AI is used to extend monitoring capacity and consistency, not to replace judgement or disguise automated output as expertise.
05 Accessible intelligence
Serious China risk intelligence should not be available only through expensive consulting engagements. A subscription model makes continuous monitoring and analysis more scalable for a wider range of organisations.
